TESTIMONIALS

Hi,

A friend of mine and I have been taking tennis lessons from Alicia for almost two years, and I wanted to let you know what an outstanding instructor she has been.  Not only has our game improved tremendously under Alicia's instruction, but she continually finds new ways to make the lessons both fun and challenging.  I thoroughly enjoy my lessons and look forward to them every week!  I am very impressed with Alicia's coaching skills and plan to continue with her as long as possible.

Regards,

Amy Spurlock

Dear Denys,

The pros at Proform are outstanding! We feel lucky to have found a tennis program with such dedicated and exceptionally talented tennis professionals. For the past two years, our son has learned every skill necessary in order to keep improving his game. He has been inspired by each and every pro and their level of commitment to the sport and to him as a player. The pros have been there for him every step of the way for instruction, guidance and counsel.

We appreciate all that you, Nic and Greg do to make things run so smoothly; Clive for his endless patience and energy. Thank you to you and everyone at Proform for making the experience such a positive one.

Hi my name is Danielle Ellison, and I have been participating in the Proform tennis program for the past 2 years, taking private lessons and working with Alicia. I just wanted to e-mail you to let you know how much I appreciate the program you are running, as it has really helped me improve my tennis game tremendously, allowing me to this year have an undefeated varsity tennis season and help my school win my league for the first time in 10 years!  All of last year and now this year I have continued taking private lessons with Alicia, and I have learned so much! I have improved my groundstrokes, volleys, and particularly my serve (ask Alicia, I didn't even really have a second serve in the beginning). Tonight I am attending an Athletic Awards Banquet at my school, which reminded me of how I wanted to thank you for running such an excellent program and enabling my great tennis success! Now in the offseason, I am continuing to enjoy working with Alicia each week!

"Dear Denys,

As a background, two years ago I was a 4.0 player with an inconsistent 6.0 serve. This averaged out to make me a mediocre 4.5 player. I began working with Nick Sabbatini and immediately my game slid to the low 3's (just kidding). I worked hard with Nick and he helped change the style of my game-something I had tried to achieve since I was a junior. Nick then moved to Proform Tennis and introduced me to you.

Since then, Nick has gotten so popular that I barely get to see him. Good for him. He's an amazing pro and I've worked with dozens and dozens. He has an amazing ability to pinpoint even the slightest imperfections and he addresses issues from a perspective different than every other pro. His approach, I believe, makes him truly unique and to me represents the work of a real "pro's pro". He's a real asset to Proform.

Working with Matt Breen for the last year and a half has also been a tremendous experience. He has given me a glimpse into what life might have been like working in a World War II German concentration camp. Joking aside, I know the work he tries to extract from me during our lessons is the same work he applies to his own game. Having checked his college record, that's no small feat. He's a classic Aussie with a factory-like Aussie work ethic, the kind that has been used in descriptions of guys like Pat Rafter, Pat Cash, John Newcombe, etc.. When I hit with Matt I'm inspired because I always feel like I'm hitting with one of those great Aussies, and because I feel I'm only about two points from beating him. Matt like all the other guys at Proform has a great personality and is a pleasure to be around.

My inspiration for writing this corny letter stems from a lesson I had with Clinton Jacobs two weeks ago. Clinton and I have been hitting since he arrived this past Fall. He's always pleasant and enthusiastic about our lessons no matter how early in the morning. The more time I hit with Clinton the more talented I realize he is. He, like Nick and Matt, has an amazing eye and is able to pick up problems in the first one or two strokes of a lesson.
But our lesson two weeks ago really struck a chord with me. During some routine points, which we play at the end of each session, he reviewed some basic mid-point strategies that in my hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of lessons I've never learned. It was so basic yet so new to me that I've changed my whole perspective on the game. Working with Clinton has really helped me raise my level and given me the confidence that I'm a strong 4.5 and can probably hang with the 5.0's.

Denys, I also want to extend my thanks to Clive Ulyett. When I injured my elbow this Winter, Clive was more than gracious in discussing it with me. He called me at home and gave me information learned from personal experience and showed me exercises to relieve the pain. Just another great guy at Proform. I look forward to playing with him one day.

But it all comes back to you Denys. As the manager, you pick this wonderful talent, you lead by example as they all look up to you, and you arrange for me to hit with them. It has been a pleasure to belong to Proform Tennis and I wish you luck in its evolution. I look forward to years of hanging around. Thank you for all you've done for me."

My daughters started taking lessons from Matt Breen and Jay Gooding just before they created Proform Tennis. What impresses me the most about Matt, Jay and the coaches they hired is the consistant individual respect they give the players they coach whether they are just starting out or have been playing for years. Day after day the pros at Proform bring their positive, enthusiastic energy to the court. My 12 year old daughter said, "I like going to Proform because they focus on technique and it is still fun!"

We have been delighted with the junior development at ProForm. We have three children in the program and have been impressed by the quality of instruction at every level. From our six year old daughter’s beginning level clinics to our 12 year old son’s advanced level training program, the teaching and practice have been uniformly excellent. The pros are dedicated, experience and highly supportive of students at all levels.

"I have been training at Proform Tennis since the program began three years ago and with pros, Matt Breen and Jay Gooding even before that. During this entire time, I have been totally impressed by the immense tennis knowledge shared between all of the pros at Proform Tennis. In my fourteen years of playing tennis, I have found no other club in the Northeast that had pros who shared such a consistent and thorough level of expertise. Also, Proform Tennis is the only place I have found where the coaches have been so willing to dedicate countless hours focusing on every aspect of my game both on and off the court. I have learned invaluable life lessons about working hard and truly committing myself to my goals. From the time spent patiently developing strokes to working on strategy and the mental side of the game, all the coaches at Proform are passionate about improving their players and helping them reach their full potential. Because of their total dedication and the immense resources at Proform, I was able to finish my junior career in the top 25 in the nation in the USTA Girls' 18 and under division, and I have received a full scholarship to play tennis on the women's tennis team at the University of Virginia in the fall of 2008."
